Meeting me, the first impression you would get is that I'm and outdoorsy happy outgoing individual, true as that maybe, I reckon myself couch potato as i do outdoorsy. While enjoying a couch potato Wednesday (that's my freedom from school day as I have no lectures or seminars/tutorials on that day) and randomly surfing YouTube, I found my new favourite Netflix original series so far... *drumroll*... "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"
The series is about Kimmy who gets kidnapped, with 2 other women, into an underground doomsday apocalypse cult and after 15years living underground is rescued, with no family, friends or home to return to Kimmy decides to build a new life and identity for herself in the big apple. The series touches issues on feminism, kidnap, cultism and the deceit used in reeling people into joining (the final victim willingly joined the cult ), race/ethnicity, homosexuality and the satire in societies reaction to the victims/individuals facing these and their experiences... But through it all, Kimmy remains as the very catchy theme song explains "UNBREAKABLE" facing every challenge with a positive, with a touch of naivety, and strong attitude refusing to be categorized by society forever as a victim, because "FEMALES ARE STRONG AS HELL". If you're not already on the "UNBREAKABLE" wagon you're missing.
